The power of Bitcoin in many ways has yet to be fully realised. For the most part, much of the attention related to it has been in relation to the currency and its rapid appreciation over the last 2 years. However, the technology that underlies the currency (“The Blockchain”) is what will likely be the lasting legacy of Bitcoin.
The ability for the unbanked to have access to banking, the creation of smart contracts, lowering the cost of remittance, decentralised identity verification - this is the power of Bitcoin. By building a new set of financial rails, Bitcoin is truly set to change the way we work, pay and interact with "money".
